How to Install a Fridge Overlay Panel

Installing an overlay panel on a refrigerator gives it a custom appearance. It makes it look trimless and as if the panel was part of the original design. If your refrigerator has an option for an overlay panel, it should include a channel on the front of the appliance to hold the panel. Installing the panel only requires accessing the channel and switching out the current panel with the selected overlay.

     Pull off any trim molding around the current installed panel. Some panels are hidden underneath a piece of magnetized trim molding. Use a piece of tape to pull back the molding.

     Loosen and remove any screws under the trim piece.

   • 3

     Loosen and remove the handle screws and pieces.

   • 4

     Grip the end of the panel. Slide the panel sideways out the channel opening.

   • 5

     Slide the overlay panel into the channel.

   • 6

     Replace the trim piece and door handle. Replace and tighten all of the screws.
