How to Troubleshoot a Door Open Alarm of a Forma -86c ULT Freezer

The Forma -86c ULT Freezer is a scientific freezer that can be set to minus 86 degrees Celsius and offers front-to-back air flow that moves air from the front grill through the filter, condenser and the compressor, then sends the air out of the rear of the unit. This keeps the compressor cold and helps maintain the extremely low temperatures of the freezer. Keeping the door shut is also an important factor in keeping the temperature stable. Troubleshooting a “Door Open” alarm is important if the alarm sounds.

     Slide the “Normal/Standby” switch on the main control panel to “Standby” to silence the alarm.

     Open the freezer door and ensure there are no items blocking the door from sealing completely. Push objects away from the door if needed.

     Examine the door gasket for signs of damage or cracking and contact Forma Scientific for service if necessary.

     Make sure the red “Low Battery” light is not flashing. Replace the battery pack if needed.

     Move the switch back to “Normal” and close the door firmly.
