Turn the burner off and let it cool, allowing the wax to cool. Break away any large chunks of wax, or take a thin blade to the surface to carefully remove the thicker areas of wax.
Plug in a clothes iron and let it preheat to a medium temperature. Place a damp paper towel across the wax on the burner.
Run the iron across the paper towel to loosen the wax and transfer it to the paper towel. Repeat the process with clean paper towels as needed.
