How to Install an Inset Stove

An inset stove fits directly into the opening in your home’s fireplace. The stove draws in cold air from your home through the bottom, then replaces it with warm air. The installation only takes a few minutes and doesn't require the use of any tools.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure the fireplace with a measuring tape before purchasing your inset stove. Find the measurements for the width and height of the opening, the flat area around the opening and the hearth. Purchase a inset stove that will fit your fireplace.

    • 2

Line the back of the inset stove with the supplied adhesive tape. Line all of the back edges.

    • 3

Push the inset stove into the opening of the fireplace. Have an assistant help you as the inset stove is heavy.

    • 4

Tighten the screw clamp, by hand, on the top front of the inset stove until it clamps securely onto the fireplace’s frame.
