Unplug your speaker from the wall outlet. Select a work space that is large enough for your cabinet and free from dust and debris.
Unscrew the metal screws that hold the speaker's mounting ring in place with a screwdriver. Collect the screws and set them aside.
Remove the speaker from the cabinet by carefully pulling outward. Disconnect the wiring harness or remove electrical tape and untwist wire connections. Set the speaker aside.
Measure the length, width and height of the empty speaker cabinet. Multiply all three dimensions to determine the cubic volume of the cabinet. For example, a cabinet that is 1 foot by 2 feet by 2 feet has a total volume of 4 cubic feet.
Consult the speaker manufacturer's owners manual, if available, for the suggested cabinet volume. Subtract this from the volume of your cabinet. For example, if your cabinet is 4 cubic feet and the suggested volume for the speaker is 3 cubic feet, you'll add 1 cubic foot of fiberfill.
Estimate the amount of fiberfill you want based on the weight listed on the package. Use 1 lb. of fiberfill to eliminate 1 cubic foot of volume in the cabinet.
Spray adhesive into the cabinet, lightly coating the inner wall that is farthest from the speaker opening. Insert the fiberfill into the cabinet through the speaker hole. Press it firmly against the back wall of the cabinet, as far from the speaker location as possible.
Insert the speaker and reattach the wiring. Replace the mounting ring and screw it into place.
