Determine if the stove is dual voltage. A dual voltage stove will read "100V - 240V," indicating that you can use the stove for voltage inputs within that range. Your stove will likely not be dual voltage, and instead read "220V." Find this information by looking at the appliance information sticker, which is a white sticker either on the side or back of your stove. If your stove is not dual voltage, you must use a voltage transformer.
Look at your stove's wattage on the appliance information sticker. Bombay Electronics suggests using a step-up transformer that can handle at least 25 to 50 percent more wattage than your appliance is rated at. You must use a step-up transformer, as it converts a 220 volt appliance to 110 volts. A step-down transformer does the opposite.
Plug your stove into the Europe to American appliance adapter. Insert the adapter into the "220V" output outlet located on the voltage transformer. If your stove is dual voltage, forgo the transformer and plug the stove into a wall outlet; a dual voltage stove should now work properly.
Set the input on the voltage transformer to 110 volts. The input switch is typically located on either the back or front of the transformer. Set the transformer to step up if applicable. Plug the transformer into an outlet. Flip the transformer power switch to "On."
