How to Install a Lennox Colonial Fireplace

Lennox manufactures and sells a variety of indoor and outdoor fireplaces as well as fireplace inserts. The Lennox Colonial fireplace model is wood-burning and features an interior brick inlay reminiscent of traditional masonry designs. Install the fireplace in a prepared framing using the tools that came with your Lennox Colonial fireplace and a nail gun.

      Place the fireplace into the prepared framing. The frame depth should be exactly 25 1/2 inches from the framed wall.

      Insert the metal safety strips underneath the fireplace. The safety strips come packaged with your fireplace. They should overlap by at least ½ inch to provide consistent coverage of the floor and should extend out from the fireplace 1½ inches. The safety strips are meant to prevent combustible surfaces from catching fire. If you are not using a combustible surface, you do not need to install the strips.

      Attach and nail the frame of the fireplace to the structure in which the fireplace sits. The frame width should be 48 1/8 inches and frame height should be 50 inches for a fireplace with a width of 38 inches. The frame width should be 52 7/8 inches and frame height should be 50 inches for a fireplace with a width of 43 inches.

      Locate and bend down the four anchor tabs at the base of the fireplace. Nail the anchors to the floor to secure the fireplace into place.
