Assembly Instructions for the Gold's Gym GC 491 Home Gym

The Gold’s Gym GC 491 is a three-in-one door-station exercise system designed to target the entire upper body. It facilitates chinups, dips, pullups and situps, all aimed at strengthening core muscles, arms, chest and back. The equipment is manufactured on Gold Gym’s behalf by Icon Health and Fitness; its code for the model is GGK 08. The same equipment is sold elsewhere under the name “Ultimate Home Training Kit.” Assembly under all brands is the same.

Instructions

    • 1

Lay out the pieces of your GC 491 Home Gym and compare them to the parts list supplied in the packaging. Ensure that all the components are present.

    • 2

Slip the end of the inner bar that has two screw-holes in it inside the open end of the outer bar; align the two holes in the outer bar with those of the inner bar. Use the two size M6, 19-mm screw-washer-locknut assemblies to lock the two parts together; the kit is delivered with an Allen wrench to drive the screws, and a wrench to hold the locknuts still.

    • 3

Orient one of the two parallel bars so that the curved portion points upward and the small, padded end protrudes over the inner bar. Align the hole through the parallel bar with the only unoccupied hole remaining through the inner bar. Lock it in position with a size M6, 58-mm screw-washer-locknut assembly. Repeat the process with the second parallel bar, bolting it to the outer bar through the only remaining empty hole.

    • 4

Attach the crossbar between the upper ends of the two parallel bars. Use the size M6, 48-mm screw-washer-locknut assemblies.

    • 5

Hook the crossbar over the top edge of a door frame, pushing it firmly against the wall to which the frame member is attached. Brace the outermost ends of the inner and outer bars against the opposite side of the frame. When in use, your weight will lock the GC 491 Home Gym in place, pincering the door frame between the crossbar on one side and the inner and outer bars on the other.
