How to Secure a Pressure-Washer Water Tank in a Trailer

Trailers attach to the back of a car or truck and are often used to transport heavy equipment, such as a pressure-washer water tank. To ensure the water tank doesn’t get moved around or fall off the trailer, careful consideration must be taken to properly fasten the cargo to the trailer bed. Many trailers feature eye bolts to allow you to attach ratchet straps for a safe and secure delivery of your water tank.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the pressure-washer water tank in the center of the trailer bed, ensuring weight is equally distributed over the axle.

    • 2

Insert the hook of one end of the ratchet strap into the eye bolt on the trailer. The eye bolt is metal piece with a loop at the end, located on each side of the trailer. The metal piece of the strap should face toward you. One ratchet strap should secure the washer at the base, the other ratchet strap should secure the washer at the top.

Pull the ratchet strap over the pressure-washer and attach to the eye bolt located on the other side of the trailer. Pull the extra fabric of the ratchet strap tight to secure the pressure-washer in place.

Place the other ratchet strap over the top portion of the water tank, insert the ratchet straps into the eye bolts on both sides of the trailer, and tighten by pulling the strap.
