If you search for "battery operated heater" or "battery Lasko," several search results will appear. Many of these results list Lasko heater models and claim that they are battery operated. If you click on these sites and look through the Lasko heater's specifications, however, you won't find any information on batteries for the unit. Lasko heaters are often miscategorized. But the specifications clearly indicate the features of most Lasko models listed.
If you've already purchased a Lasko heater, you can stop looking for the battery compartment. All Lasko heaters are designed to plug into a 120-volt wall outlet. The Lasko heater's plug is polarized: One blade is wider than the other. Make sure that each blade fits into the corresponding slot in the outlet. Never force the plug into the outlet. If the plug does not fit, call Lasko customer service at 1-800-233-0268. Never attempt to plug in a Lasko heater with a damaged cord or plug.
Because Lasko heaters are not battery operated, they cannot function during a power outage. Lasko heaters are designed to run only on 120-volt outlet power. Never plug your Lasko heater into a car battery adapter, power strip or any other appliance. The heater may overheat, spark or otherwise pose a fire hazard. Any resulting damage to your Lasko heater due to improper use in this manner will not be covered by the heater's warranty.
No Lasko heaters runs on batteries. But there a few models of Lasko heater, like the Lasko Designer Series Ceramic Oscillating Heater and the Cool-Touch Infrared Quartz Heater, that come with a small wireless remote control. All Lasko remote controls are battery operated. If you purchase a Lasko heater with a remote control, bring two "AA" batteries home with you.
