The power to the entire oven or range may be out, which would cause the display to go blank as well. Connect the power cord to a working outlet and then replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker. If the power to other appliances is out as well, a household power failure may have occurred, in which case power to the oven will resume when power to the home is restored. Contact your local electric company for further guidance.
If other functions will work on the oven or range, such as the control knobs for the cook top, try a power reset to get the display working again. Disconnect power, wait 30 minutes and then restore power. If the display still does not light up or function, contact Kenmore for assistance.
Most Kenmore Elite ranges offer a Sabbath Mode feature that allows the oven to remain on but all lights and features to be inactive while the mode is on. To cancel the Sabbath Mode feature, touch and hold “Delay Start” and “Cook Time” at the same time for 3 seconds. A beep will sound and “SAb” will flash and disappear from the display panel.
The control board on the unit may have failed, either as a result of a power failure or a wiring problem. If the Sabbath Mode is not engaged and the power supply to the oven is functional, the control board may be to blame. This is not something that most owners can repair; a professional technician should be contacted to inspect the appliance to perform necessary repairs.
