My Dacor Oven Lights Will Not Work

Dacor oven ranges, known for their dual fuel features, are high-end appliances that offer many of the modern features owners expect in their kitchens. One of those features is a brightly lit oven cavity, which makes it hard to view your cooking if the lights aren’t working. Although it can vary by model number, there are several reasonable causes for those lights not to work, including electrical problems, the wrong cycle or a burned out bulb.
  1. Light Functions

    • Your Dacor oven has two lights, which help you keep an eye on your food as it warms, bakes or broils. They don’t come on automatically. You must press the light button on the control panel to turn the lights on and off. If your oven lights don’t work, the first thing you should check is your electricity to the unit.

    Electricity Problems

    • If in addition to your oven lights not functioning, the control panel is dark as well, it’s possible that the unit is having electrical problems. If you’re not experiencing an electrical outage, check that the unit is plugged into a working electrical outlet. Also, check the circuit breaker associated with the outlet to verify it doesn’t need a reset.

    Self-Clean Mode

    • Another thing to check if your oven lights won’t work is its current settings. During the self-clean mode, the lights won’t respond on the button on the control panel. Check the display panel and the oven door. A locked oven door and the words “Clean” on the display indicate the unit is in a cleaning cycle. The self-clean cycle takes about three hours to complete but you can stop it by hitting the “Stop/Cancel” button. Once the cleaning cycle is over or stopped, your lights should work again.

    Burned Out Bulbs

    • Another reason your lights might not work is that they’re burned out. This is especially true in situations where you notice that only one of the two lights is not working. Turn off the power to the oven and open the door. Pry open the light vent and unscrew the burned out light. Replace it with a replacement bulb of the same size and wattage.
