How to Change a Drawer Belt

A drawer belt refers to the drive belt that rotates media in an electronic device, such as a DVD, CD, CD-ROM or other disc player. The rubber drawer belt fits below the tray, or drawer, for the media disc and may also be used to eject the disc. Drawer belts are typically found on older electronic components, as newer equipment often uses direct-drive motors that eliminate belts, which can tear or break. If the drawer belt in your device is broken, change it out with a replacement from an electronics parts store or order one from the manufacturer.
