How to Restart the Pilot on a Miller Nordyne Central Air & Heat Unit

The Miller Nordyne central air and heat unit is a residential appliance that can be used in manufactured housing as well as a standard home. Miller Nordyne split systems should generally operate well with regular care and maintenance but the pilot light may go out if there is a power outage or failure. The pilot light may be reset but should only be operated by an adult familiar with operating the appliance to help reduce the risk of injury.

Instructions

  1. Electric Unit

    • 1

Turn the thermostat associated with the combination Miller Nordyne unit to the lowest temperature point.

    • 2

Switch the unit power to “Off” and wait for a minute or two.

    • 3

Move the unit power back to “On” and then increase the thermostat temperature to a point around five or 10 degrees higher than room temperature to light the pilot light.

    • 4

Switch the thermostat to “Auto” and “Heat" for heating or "Auto" and "Cool" once the unit is running.
