How to Replace a Frigidaire Oven Hinge

Frigidaire ovens have hinges that allow the oven’s door to open and close safely. If a hinge moves too freely, or it is difficult to open the oven’s door, the hinge may require replacement. The oven may not function properly until you repair the hinges because the door may not support a proper seal. The repair only takes a few minutes, and you can accomplish it without having to hire a technician.

Instructions

  Switch the breaker switch for your Frigidaire range to “Off” at the breaker box.

  Open the oven door and push the locks on the hinges down, using a flat-head screwdriver. The hinge locks are on the oven’s frame.

  Pull up on the door and lift it away from the oven to remove the door.

  Lay the door down with the exterior side facing down.

  Unscrew the top screws that hold the door handle in place and the screws along the bottom side of the door. This will allow you to remove the oven door’s front panel.

  Lift the door away from the front panel.

  Remove the two screws along the side of the inner door panel and pull the hinge off.

  Insert the new hinge into the inner door panel and screw it back into place.

  Reverse the instructions to replace the outer front panel and reinstall the door.
