Flojet Bottled Water Dispensing System Installation

When installed, a Flojet bottled water dispensing system pumps bottled water from a 5-gallon jug through a tube to supply purified water to a drinking water faucet, or to the inlet of your refrigerator to supply an icemaker or drinking water tap. The water is pulled from the jug through a suction wand. The system is easy to install, requiring only enough room to place the water jug and pumping unit, and enough wall surface to run the water supply tube.

Instructions

    • 1

Locate a space large enough to place the 5-gallon jug of water and the pump module of the unit. A cabinet near the refrigerator or sink-based water faucet are good locations. A grounded electrical outlet also is necessary for supplying power to the pump.

    • 2

Set the pump module onto the rear of the floor of the cabinet with the power switch and the suction tube facing the cabinet opening.

    • 3

Cut the supply tube with a utility knife at the end that connects to your pump to fit the distance between the pump and the refrigerator or faucet. Keep the length to the necessary minimum.

    • 4

Run the water supply tube from the rear of the system to the water inlet of your refrigerator or water faucet. You can run the tube through the side of your cabinet by drilling a hole with a 1/2-inch drill bit. Mount the tube to the rear of the cabinet or the wall using brackets that fit snugly over the tube without causing a deformation. Screw the brackets into place with wood screws. You also can connect the tube to your wall with brackets, using drywall screws to mount the brackets into drywall surfaces. Drive the screws into place with a screw set attached to your drill.

    • 5

Remove the red or white plug from the end of the tube by pressing the collet around the end of the tube toward the tube body, then pulling the plug free. Fit the tube over the inlet valve of the faucet or refrigerator and release the collet.

    • 6

Place the 5-gallon jug of water in the cabinet, then put the suction wand in the jug. Push the cap around the top of the wand over the jug's top, then press the wand downward until the base hovers about 1/8 inch from the bottom center of the base of the jug. Attach the end of the suction hose to the inlet port of the pump.

Plug the pump into a grounded electrical outlet. Turn the switch on the pump to the "on" position. Turn the faucet on to pump out any air in the system. If using with a refrigerator, unplug the hose at the refrigerator inlet and hold over a small cup until water begins to flow before reconnecting the hose to pump air from the system.
