How to Use a UB1832FX Eurorack Mixer

The UB1832FX Eurorack is a discontinued 18-input audio mixing console that was manufactured by Behringer. The component is typically used in small recording studios and by sound engineers at live performances. Benefits of the UB1832FX Eurorack include built-in microphone preamplifiers, so no additional signal boost is needed to connect a mic. Instructions

    • 1

Unplug the UB1832FX Eurorack powerr cord from the wall outlet.

    • 2

Hook up musical instruments such as an electric guitar or keyboard to the inputs on the top of the UB1832FX.

    • 3

Connect microphones to the inputs labeled "MIC" using 3-pin XLR cables. The mixer can accommodate up to 14 inputs, including mics and instruments.

    • 4

Plug the amplifiers into the 'LINE OUT" jacks on the UB1832FX using the cables supplied with the amps. Note the left and right channels for amplifier connections.

    • 5

Connect a recording device, if desired, to the "REC OUT" jacks on the UB1832FX using CA-type audio cables. The red cable plug connects to the right audio jack. White connects to the left.

    • 6

Plug in the power cord for the mixer as well as the equipment connect to the component.

    • 7

Use the routing switch and fader knob controls for each input to add an instrument or microphone to the mix. These knobs are arranged in rows on the front panel of the mixer. Each row of controls adjusts the sound quality of the instrument or microphone input connected at the top of the row.

    • 8

Keep an eye on the LED panel for each input. The red LEDs indicate the sound is clipping and may become distorted. Dial down the gain and fader controls for that input to prevent clipping the sound.

    • 9

Move the slide control at the bottom of the console for each input to increase or decrease the frequency response of that input.

    • 10

Adjust the slides on the 9-band equalizer on the right side of the mixer console to sculpt the audio mix of all combined inputs, such as guitars, keyboards and microphones.

    • 11

Plug in a set of headphones to the headphones jack to monitor the mix as you make adjustments using the controls.

    • 12

Activate the recording device connected to the REC OUT jacks on the mixer to record the finished audio mix. Follow the procedures for your particular recording device, such as a digital recorder or tape deck.
