How to Change a Whirlpool Whole House Filter Gasket

The Whirlpool Whole House filtration system hooks up to your water supply system through a faucet. The diverter valve screws onto the faucet, and when you turn the faucet on, the water runs through the filtration system before exiting the faucet. To prevent leaks, a gasket inside the diverter valve secures the connection between the valve and faucet.

Instructions

    • 1

Unscrew the diverter valve attached to your faucet. You should be able to unscrew it by hand, but if it is on too tight, use pliers.

    • 2

Look inside the diverter valve, and pull out the existing gasket with needle-nose pliers.

    • 3

Insert the new gasket into the diverter valve, and push it into place. You may use the needle-nose pliers to help push it into place if you cannot do it by hand.

    • 4

Replace the diverter valve by screwing it back into place on the faucet.
