Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the power to your heating/cooling system.

    • 2

Remove the old thermostat from your wall, leaving the wall plate attached to the wires. Contact the Thermostat Recycling Corporation about how to dispose of your old thermostat if it contains a mercury tube.

    • 3

Remove the batteries from your old thermostat.

    • 4

Stick the wiring labels that came with your new Honeywell thermostat to the wires connected to your old thermostat’s wall plate. You can then remove it and its wall plate from your wall.

    • 5

Remove the wall plate from the back of your new thermostat and screw it into your wall. You’ll need to drill screw holes before you do so.

    • 6

Insert the wires into your new thermostat's wall plate using the labels to identify which ports to use. Secure the wires by loosening and tightening the screw on the wire ports.

    • 7

Insert two AA batteries into your thermostat and remove the installation tab from its rear.

    • 8

Click the thermostat onto its wall plate and restore the power to your heating/cooling system.
