How to Fix Small Chips in Your Jenn-Air Cooktop

Chips and dings in your Jenn-Air cooktop make your appliance look old, even if the stove is showroom-new. Despite the cooktop's cosmetic vulnerability, appliance companies like Jenn-Air continue to offer ceramic products because they distribute heat well and clean easily. If you chip the cooking surface and manage to keep the chip, you can repair the stove quickly. In cases where the chip has been shattered or lost, less effective measures may camouflage an ugly chip. If your cooktop has a large chip that could affect the stove's performance, you should contact Jenn-Air and order a replacement ceramic inset.

Instructions

    • 1

Dampen a clean sponge with water and spray the chipped stovetop with kitchen cleaner. Clean the chipped area with the sponge.

    • 2

Pat the chipped area with a clean towel. Allow the stove to air dry for 15 to 30 minutes before continuing.

    • 3

Drop one or two drops of glue on the chipped surface. Position the chip over the spot. Hold the chip in place, pressing it down with tweezers. Allow the glue to dry for at least one hour.

Scrape away excess glue using a razor blade. Avoid scratching the surface with the blade.
