Mix 2 tablespoons of baking soda with 1 teaspoon of water in a small cup.
Dab up the pasty mix with a clean piece of cheesecloth. Rub the paste over the light scratches. Use small circles to get a good buffing motion.
Wipe away the paste with a clean, dry piece of cheesecloth. Do this regularly to keep scratching under control.
Wipe the chipped area clean with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
Place the glass chip upside down on a counter and carefully dab it with the alcohol swab. Do not touch the glass as this may cut you.
Allow the cooktop and the chip to dry completely, about 30 minutes. Squirt a dab of epoxy glue on the chipped surface of the stove.
Push the chip into place and hold it still with tweezers for one minute. Do not touch or use the stove for at least six hours. The glue must cure completely.
