How to Fix an Oven Top

Gas or electric ranges rely on clean equipment to work properly. Stove tops need regular cleaning maintenance to prevent clogged ignitors, burners and other issues. Not all issues are due to dirt, however. After cleaning, ignitors should spark and burners should carry gas. Proper troubleshooting and repair techniques will help you save money on stove repairs. Always refer to your owner's manual for troubleshooting steps specific to your model, as well as part numbers for ordering new parts.

Check your owner's manual for the correct continuity. If you receive an unsatisfactory reading, replace the burner.
