How to Fix a Broken Knob on a KitchenAid Trash Compactor

KitchenAid trash compactors are home appliances permanently installed under the counters in your kitchen. Trash compactors compress garbage, reducing the number of garbage bags needed and decreasing the number of trips made to your garbage can. If your local garbage services charge by volume, a trash compactor reduces you bill by reducing the volume of garbage. KitchenAid trash compactors have a knob that when turned to the "Start" position, begins the compression cycle. This knob is plastic. If it breaks, you cannot start the cycle. A broken knob must be replaced.
