Mounting a TV for a Small Bedroom

Mounting a TV to the wall is an excellent way to save space in a small room. You don't need any extra furniture for the TV and it leaves your surfaces free to hold other items. When choosing a TV for a small room, choose one that is an appropriate size. TVs that are too large will overwhelm the room and take up too much space. They are also harder to watch because you have to sit closer. Choose a TV that you can easily see and fits nicely on your wall.

Instructions

    • 1

Choose a location for the TV. Look for a position that is out of the way, easy to see and doesn't get a lot of glare from the window.

    • 2

Attach the TV brackets to the back of the TV. Set the TV on its stand so it is upright and you can easily access the back. Screw the two brackets into the screw holes on the back of your TV, making sure to line the brackets up so they are even.

    • 3

Locate the studs in the desired location using a stud finder and mark them with a pencil.

    • 4

Attach the wall bracket to the TV brackets loosely so you can gauge how to mount the TV. Measure the distance between the top of the TV to the top of the wall bracket. Measure the height of the TV from the floor to the top of the TV. Determine how high the TV should be hung using these measurements.

    • 5

Mount the wall bracket to the wall by screwing directly into the wall's studs. Use a level before you begin screwing to ensure the bracket is even. Check again after the screws are in place and before you tighten them completely. Adjust the bracket if necessary and tighten the screws.

Lift the TV up with the help of an assistant and click it into place so it is tightly connected to the wall.

    • 7

Plug the TV power cord and cable cord into the wall.
