Tips on Cleaning Stubborn Cooked on Stains on Glass Cooktop Burners

It takes just one sauce to boil over or one spill of gravy to mar your glass cooktop burners with stubborn cooked-on stains. Attack those stains as soon as the cooking surface has cooled. With a cleaning pad, a cleaning cream, some elbow grease, and for the hardest-to-clean stains, a razor blade, you can restore your cooktop to a shiny state.

Instructions

    • 1

Wait for the cooktop to cool and apply a small amount of ceramic cooktop cleaning cream. A few drops will suffice, but spread them over the whole stained area.

    • 2

Spread the cream around the surface with a non-abrasive sponge or cloth. Abrasives will scratch the cooktop.

    • 3

Repeat the application if the stain did not come out. This time, instead of immediately spreading the cream, cover it with a wet paper towel and leave on for 30 minutes. Scrub with a nonabrasive sponge.

    • 4

Use a razor scraper to remove any remaining stains. Place a few drops of cleaning cream on the cooktop; hold the razor at a 45-degree angle. Use short strokes to scrape the stains until they come off. Keep the cooktop moist with cream while using the blade.

Clean the entire cooktop after stain removal to get an even shine. Apply a small amount of cream and wipe off with your cleaning pad.
