My Frigidaire Microwave Turntable Does Not Turn

Off-Center

• Most likely, the reason why the turntable in a Frigidaire microwave does not turn is that the turntable has been knocked off the turning rack and is off-balance. Lift the glass tray up and off the turntable ring assembly. Then lift up the ring assembly and set the assembly back down over the turntable shaft, turning with your fingers until the ring is positioned correctly on the shaft. Set the glass tray with the tabs in the glass tray over the slots on the ring assembly, and turn it with your fingers until the entire tray rotates easily.

Debris

• Sometimes the turntable does not spin because the ring assembly or the glass tray is dirty and debris is preventing the tray from spinning. Lift out the glass tray when it's cool, and wash it in warm, soapy water. Wash the ring assembly as well, and rinse and dry the tray and the assembly well. Then reassemble the ring assembly in the microwave, and center the glass tray on the ring assembly.

Oven Cavity Bottom

• If there is food residue or debris in the bottom of the microwave, this may interfere with the spinning of the turntable. Clean the microwave bottom with warm, soapy water and a cleaning sponge, and use a clean, damp cloth to wipe away the soap residue and dry with a towel. Lift out the tray assembly if necessary to clean the entire microwave floor, and then reassemble it.

Repair

• While cleaning and repositioning the turntable should restore the turntable to normal use and rotation, the ring assembly or the tray may be damaged or broken, interfering with proper function. Examine the entire assembly carefully if the turntable is still not spinning, and contact Frigidaire for replacement parts as needed.
