How to Remove the Casing on an Emerson Microwave MW8992SB

Emerson makes many electronic appliances, including microwaves. Its model MW8992SB microwave is a sleek and stylish looking microwave with many food preparation features. Some repairs that you may need to perform on the microwave may require you to remove the casing. It may seem like a harder task than it is if you have never performed it before. However, you can remove the casing with a common household tool and a minimal amount of time and effort.

      Unplug your Emerson microwave's electrical cord from the wall outlet and set the oven on a flat surface where you can access the rear.

      Unfasten the screws located along the bottom edge of both sides. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to turn the screws counterclockwise and completely remove them.

      Remove the screws along the back of the microwave that secure the back edge.

      Hold the casing with one hand on each side of the casing and pull it firmly toward the back of the unit until it comes off of the frame.
