Unplug the Kenmore microwave’s power cord from the wall and open the microwave door.
Unscrew the screws along the grill on the top of the microwave and pull off the grill.
Pinch the C-clip together to remove it. The C-clip holds the door pivot in place on top of the door’s hinge.
Pull the pivot pin out of the hinge by lifting it.
Lift the microwave’s door until it is released from the lower hinge and lay the door down with the exterior facing down.
Insert a flat screwdriver under the outer edge of the frame, on the interior side, and lift to begin to pry the frame off. Pry up only small areas, about 1/4-inch apart, at a time. Prying up too much of the frame at once and too far apart may crack the frame.
Lift the frame off the interior side of the microwave. Removing the frame will grant you access to the glass.
Remove the glass and insert the new piece into the door.
Replace the frame by lining the frame around the door and pushing it back into place. The frame will snap in.
Replace the door by reversing the directions.
Test the microwave using a microwave leak detection device before using the microwave.
