How to Fix a Stuck Panasonic Genius Inverter Microwave Door

The Panasonic Genius microwave oven features an automatic locking feature to prevent interruptions during the reheating process, and it may become stuck in the event of a power failure. Alternatively, the microwave oven's child lock feature may have been activated during use, which requires manual deactivation to unlock the appliance's door. Professional repair is necessary if the door remains stuck after basic troubleshooting because the microwave's electronic control panel may be defective.

Instructions

    • 1

Push "Stop/Reset" on the front of the microwave's control panel to pause the current cooking time. Pull the door's handle door slowly to test if the door opens.

    • 2

Press "Stop/Cancel" three times to disable the child lock feature. The child lock setting temporarily disables the control panel, and may have been set during use to prevent the door from opening.

    • 3

Unplug the microwave's power cord from the nearby electric outlet. Wait 10 seconds to reset the microwave, and plug the power cord back into the outlet to restore power.

Pull the door open to remove the food from inside of the microwave.
