How to Replace the Thermal Fuse on a Kenmore Microwave

A thermal fuse helps protect your Kenmore microwave from damage caused by overheating. If the temperature of the microwave exceeds a certain level, the thermal fuse opens, cutting off the power supply to the microwave. Normally, the fuse resets when the microwave cools down. When the fuse is worn or damaged, it can remain open, rendering the microwave inoperable. A thermal fuse stuck in the open position needs to be replaced.
