How to Install the Rear Wall Exhaust on an LG Microwave Oven

If you own a, LG microwave oven, it's important that the unit is properly vented. If the microwave connects to a wall vent, make sure the blower unit blows into the vent. To fully install the rear wall exhaust, remove the microwave from the wall and take out the knockout parts from the microwave’s back, so that the blower unit blows through the rear exhaust in your kitchen.

Instructions

    • 1

      Turn off the electrical power to the LG microwave over from the kitchen circuit breaker.

      Remove the mounting screws from the microwave’s back with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Set the microwave down so that you can access the unit’s rear.

      Remove the two blower plate screws at the microwave’s top back using a Phillips-head screwdriver.

      Lift the blower plate off the microwave, and then lift the blower unit out of the microwave.

      Cut and remove the two knockout parts on the unit’s top rear side using side cutters.

      Turn the blower unit so that the exhaust ports face the microwave’s rear. Place the blower all the way into the microwave.

      Place the blower plate back on and reinsert the screws. Reconnect the microwave to the wall so that it connects to the wall exhaust.

      Reinsert the mounting screws to the microwave. Turn the electrical power back on from the kitchen circuit breaker.
