Like most over-the-range microwave ovens, the Goldstar has a grease filter that you must properly maintain to keep the filtration system functioning properly. Removing and cleaning the grease filter should be part of your regular cleaning routine. Cleaning the grease filter on the microwave oven is a simple process that will take the average do-it-yourselfer about 10 minutes to complete. In some cases, if the filter is very old, or dirty, you may want to simply replace it and start with a fresh one.
