Measure the width of the cabinet opening. Mark the center of the cabinet with a pencil.
Align the center of the template with the pencil mark on the wall.
Locate studs in the wall with the stud finder. Mark their location on the wall template. Verify that the mounting holes in the template are over a stud.
Drill a 3/16-inch hole in each of the mounting holes on the wall template. Set the mounting plate on the wall and secure it with lag screws. Insert the lag screws into the mounting holes and tighten them with the power drill.
Place the upper cabinet template on the bottom of the cabinet. Drill holes for mounting screws through the mounting hole points on the template. Insert a hole saw attachment on the power drill and drill a hole for the power cord.
Insert bolts through the holes on the mounting plate and attach a spring toggle nut to each of the bolts. Place the mounting plate on the wall and push the bolts through the drywall. Turn, by hand, the toggle bolts to open the toggle nut.
Inset lag screws into the holes over the wall studs. Tighten the lag screws with the power drill. Tighten the toggle bolts with the screwdriver.
Lift the microwave up and insert the power cord through the hole in the bottom of the cabinet. Secure the microwave to the mounting plate.
Open the cabinet doors and insert the mounting bolts into the holes. Tighten the bolts to secure the microwave to the cabinet with the power drill.
Plug the power cord into the electrical outlet to complete the installation.
