How to Order a Mounting Plate for a Kenmore Elite Microwave Oven

Locating The Model Number

  Locate your Kenmore Elite microwave oven's manual. The model number is on the front cover of the manual. If you can't find the manual or don't have one, proceed to the next step, otherwise skip to step 4.

  Turn your microwave around so the back of the unit is facing you. Locate the model number plate containing the word "Kenmore." If you don't see the model number plate, proceed to the next step, otherwise skip to step 4.

  Open your microwave's door. Look for the model number plate on the bottom portion of the microwave opposite of the door's gasket.

  Write down your microwave's model number on a piece of paper.

Ordering The Plate Online

  Open your Internet browser. Enter "www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action" into the URL box at the top of your browser. Press the "Enter" or "Return" key on your computer's keyboard. The Sears Parts Direct website will load in your browser.

  Enter your microwave's model number in the "By model number" box. Click "Search" to start the parts search process.

  Click on your model number on the "Model Number Search Results" page. Click on the "Search by parts description" link. Enter "mounting plate" in the box next to "Find a part."

  Click the "Find a part" button. Click on the part's number and follow the on-screen prompts to enter your personal information and purchase the mounting plate.

  If the mounting plate is not found for your Kenmore Elite microwave oven model, proceed to the "Ordering The Plate -- Telephone" section to contact a part's department representative to see if the mounting plate is available through the "special order" department.
