Determine where you will place the Spacemaker microwave. You may choose to mount the microwave in an undercounter cabinet so that it appears to be built into your kitchen cabinet unit. You may also choose to set the Spacemaker microwave on a countertop surface.
Ensure that your installation space provides adequate ventilation for the microwave. The microwave you select will come with vents that should not be blocked.
Measure the installation space to determine the height, width and depth available for the microwave. You could also be sure that your countertop or cabinet structure is strong enough to hold the weight of the microwave, which will vary based on the model you select.
Select the Spacemaker microwave model that suits your space needs, weight requirements and other variables, such as microwave cooking features and size.
Read the installation instructions that come with your selected Spacemaker microwave to be certain that you understand the manufacturer's requirements and suggestions.
Mount the microwave to the cabinet using the Spacemaker mounting kit. Depending on where you purchase your Spacemaker microwave, a mounting kit may come with the unit. The standard Spacemaker mounting kit provides four different mounting templates from which you can select your preferred mounting method. If you are not mounting the microwave, place it in the cabinet or on the countertop where you would like to use it.
Plug the microwave into the electrical outlet. Spacemaker microwaves require a grounded three-hole, 120-volt electrical receptable that is compliant with the National Electrical Code.
