Line the microwave template up to the bottom of the cabinet. The template should be centered in order to ensure a proper fit.
Drill holes up through the bottom of the cabinets in the locations specified by the template. The template is a guideline as to where all of the bolts need to be placed in order to mount the microwave.
Cut the area outlined in the template from the bottom of the cabinet to pass the electric line through. This will allow you to plug the cable into an electrical outlet inside of the cabinet. If there is no outlet inside of the cabinet, cut an additional 2-by-2-inch opening in the side or top of the cabinet to pass the cable through.
Line the microwave wall template on the wall below the cabinet template. This template is used to mount the microwave base for support. Drill into specified locations to properly hook up the base to the wall. Remove the template once all holes are drilled.
Scan the wall for studs in the drilled locations. If a stud is not present, hammer a heavy-duty drywall anchor into the hole in order to establish a supporting system. Attach the microwave base into the wall by lining the microwave base with the holes on the wall, and drilling one screw through each location previously drilled.
Set the microwave onto the base by lining up the hooks on the bottom of the microwave base to the slots along the back bottom edge of the microwave. Pull the electrical cord through the cut out section on the bottom of the cabinet. Have a friend help you to hold the microwave in place while you drill the bolts through to the top of the microwave.
