Instructions

    • 1

Check the area where the oven is to be mounted to be certain that the minimum dimensions are met and that at least one wall stud is available. Use a stud finder to locate all wall studs in the area, which should be 16 inches apart. Do not install in an area where there are no wall studs. Also make certain there is a 3-prong outlet inside the upper cabinet under which the oven will go, and that a hole is cut in the underside of the cabinet. If there is no hole available, use a keyhole saw to make a circular cut wide enough to accommodate the power cord of the microwave.

    • 2

Mark the center of each wall stud and draw a plumb line -- a straight perpendicular line -- down the center of each stud.

    • 3

Find and mark the vertical center line of the opening into which you are placing the microwave. Align the center of the cardboard template that comes with the microwave to the center line on the wall, making certain that the template is level and that the top of it is butted up against the bottom edge of the cabinet. If the cabinet has an overhanging lip on the front edge, lower the template so it is level with the front edge of the cabinet. Tape the template in place.

    • 4

Mark holes in both lower corners of the template and draw a horizontal line across the bottom edge of the template. Remove the template and check to make certain you can see your markings. The bottom edge line must be 17-1/4 inches from the bottom of the upper cabinet and must be level.

    • 5

Align the mounting plate center markers to the vertical center line on the wall, making sure the bottom edge is aligned to the horizontal bottom line on the wall. Make certain the support tabs are facing out. Find the wall stud center line and mark at least one hole close to this line. Set the mounting plate aside.

    • 6

Drill holes into the wall studs at the marked locations. Drill a 3/4 inch hole through the wall at the marked center and corner locations if there is no stud.

    • 7

With the mounting plate in place and support tabs facing out, insert a 3 inch long round toggle bolt through the holes where there is no stud to tie into. Start threading the toggles at the back of the plate. Don't thread the toggle all the way to the back of the plate. Leave room for the toggles to go through the wall and to open. Push the bolts through the drywall, and finger tighten, making sure that the toggles have opened against the drywall.

    • 8

Insert a lag screw into the holes where there is a stud. Check for level and tighten all screws and bolts.

    • 9

Using two people, lift the oven into place, hanging it on the support tabs at the bottom of the mounting plate.

    • 10

While the front of the microwave is still tilted, thread the power supply line through the hole in the bottom of the upper cabinet.

    • 11

Rotate the microwave up towards the upper cabinet. Push it against the mounting plate and hold into place.

    • 12

Install filters as per manufacturer's instructions. Plug the microwave into the outlet and connect the power. Test the microwave by placing one cup of water on the turntable for a minute. Test the vent fan and exhaust.
