Check the bulb if the interior light will not illuminate. Unplug the microwave. Remove the lamp cover by unscrewing the mounting screws. Turn the bulb to tightly screw it in. Then plug the microwave back in to test the light. If the bulb still will not illuminate, it is likely broken or defective. Replace it with another 20 to 40 watt appliance bulb.
Look for common user error if the oven does not microwave food once you press "Start." Open the door, then close it firmly and try pressing start again. If the LG still will not microwave, clear your entry, then enter it again.
Check that you selected the "Cook" function and not the "Timer" function (which simply counts down time without microwaving).
Check the power supply if your LG microwave's time display does not keep correct time. Unplug the microwave, then plug it back in so the power cord is securely inserted into the outlet. Check that no other appliances are plugged into the circuit that your LG microwave runs on.
Open the door of the microwave, and close it securely if the time counts down, but the oven does not microwave. The microwave function will not engage unless the door is firmly shut.
Adjust the microwave's power level on the user screen if food cooks much more quickly or slowly than it should.
Reposition your food if it cooks unevenly. Plates of food in an LG microwave should be spread out so that its height is uniform. Also, partially frozen food microwaves unevenly.
Recheck the appropriate time, power levels, weight and/or dish size that you entered.
