How to Remove a Jenn Air Microwave JMC9158AA

The Jenn Air JMC9158AA is a wall-mounted microwave that is placed just over the stove and just under a kitchen cabinet. The microwave is able to stay in place thanks to the wall mount's slots into which it is inserted and the the screws that are inserted into the top of the microwave through the bottom of the cabinet. Removing the Jenn Air microwave is much less time consuming than installing it.

Instructions

      Remove the microwave plug from the wall outlet.

      Ask a helper to hold on to the bottom of the front of the microwave to provide some stabilization.

      Insert your screwdriver into a screw inside the cabinet and turn counter-clockwise. Continue to turn the screwdriver until the screw is no longer inserted in the top of the microwave. Pull the screw upward and out. Repeat this process for each screw.

      Ask your helper to slightly lean the microwave forward.

      Place one hand on the back right side of the microwave to stabilize it. Press upward on the back left side of the microwave to remove the microwave from the wall mount's slot.

      Hold the back left side of the microwave with one hand and press your other hand under the back right side of the microwave until the microwave lifts up out of the wall mount slot.

      Set the microwave aside.
