How to Troubleshoot a Panasonic Genius Microwave

Panasonic Genius microwaves are designed to be able to bake, broil and reheat. These microwaves include a number of advantageous settings, including a setting that allows you to keep food warm, a turbo defrost function and a popcorn setting. If there is a problem with the microwave, you can employ a few troubleshooting techniques to determine whether the problem is serious or stems from an operator error.

Instructions

Make sure the oven is completely plugged into the wall outlet if the microwave does not turn on. Remove the plug from the outlet, wait about 10 seconds, then plug the appliance back in to see if there is power. If there is still no power, check the breaker box to make sure the switch to the outlet has not been tripped. If the switch is in the "Off" position, slide it to "On." You also can try plugging another electrical device into the outlet to see if the outlet is functioning properly.

Make sure the oven door is completely closed if the oven does not start cooking even when there is power. If the door is closed, make sure you press the "Start" button after entering the amount of time you wish to cook the food. There is a possibility that a different program than the one you want to use is set in the microwave. If this is the case, press "Stop/Reset" and press the buttons for the settings with which you want to cook and press "Start" again.

Press the "Clock" pad three times if the microwave's display features a "Demo Mode" message. Pressing the "Clock" pad three times transfers the microwave to its normal settings.

Clean the bottom of the oven and the roller ring if there is a noise coming from the ceramic tray. Leftover food can cause the roller to roll roughly, causing a noise.
