Instructions for a Cuisinart Microwave Oven

General Cooking

  Pull the microwave oven's door open. Place the food you desire to cook, in a microwave-safe container, into the microwave. Close the door.

  Push the button labeled "9/Kitchen Timer." The display will read all zeros.

  Push the numbered buttons to set the cooking time.

  Push "Start/+30Sec."

  Open the microwave and carefully check or remove the food when the timer emits a buzzing sound five times in a row.

Cooking With Reduced Power Level

  Place your food into the microwave.

  Push the "Power" button as many times as necessary to reach the desired power level. Each time you push the button, you will reduce the microwave's power by 10 percent. The display will show the resulting power as, for example, "PL8" for 80 percent power or "PL3" for 30 percent power.

  Push the numbered keys to set the desired cooking time at reduced power.

  Push "Start/+30Sec."

  Remove the food when the timer emits a buzz five times in a row.

Defrost Foods By Weight

  Place the food to be defrosted into the microwave oven.

  Push "Defrost." The display should read "dEF1."

  Push the numbered buttons to designate the weight of the food you're defrosting in ounces.

  Push "Start/+30Sec."

  Remove the defrosted food when the buzzer sounds five times.

Making Popcorn

  Place the bag of microwaveable popcorn into the microwave, with the correct side facing upward as designated by the popcorn packaging. Take note of the weight, in ounces, of the package.

  Push "Popcorn" until the proper weight shows on the screen. You can choose from 3.5, 3.0 or 1.75 as popcorn bag weights.

  Push "Start/+30Sec."

  Remove your popcorn when the timer sounds.
