How to Troubleshoot a Sanyo Microwave EM-S5002W That Doesn't Heat Up

The Sanyo Corporation manufactures a wide variety of products, including appliances and devices for airports, hospitals, hotels, retail and convenience stores and the home. The company produces several different types of microwaves for residential use, including the EM-S5002W. While the microwave should work well under most circumstances, problems may happen occasionally, such as when the device will not heat up. Performing some troubleshooting steps may help find the issue and offer a possible solution.

Instructions

    • 1

Ensure the Sanyo microwave is firmly connected to a working power supply. Check the local fuse and/or circuit breakers, particularly in the case of recent power failure, and reset if necessary.

    • 2

Unplug the microwave, wait 30 seconds and plug back in to the power supply to reset the microcomputer.

    • 3

Open and close the microwave door firmly and press "Stop/Reset." Select a new cook time and press "Start."

    • 4

Ensure a proper cooking temperature and/or time is chosen, as low cooking temperatures or short cooking times may prevent the microwave from heating food appropriately. Press "Power Level" to ensure the microwave is cooking at 100 percent power.

Contact an authorized service technician if the problem is still unresolved.
