GE Microwave Won't Work After Cleaning

Microwaves are one of the many conveniences of modern life that often taken for granted. They provide a fast and easy way to make full meals in mere minutes. However, sometimes even the most depended-upon appliances do not function as they should, even after routine maintenance like cleaning. GE recommends some troubleshooting steps to attempt to resolve the issue yourself so you do not have to involve customer support unless absolutely necessary.

      Ensure the door is closing completely and you are pressing "Start" to engage the cooking cycle.

      Press "Off/Clear" to ensure there is not a prior cooking time entered. Press "Off/Clear" again for three seconds to turn off the Control Lock, which may have accidentally been engaged.

      Check the electrical plug is securely placed in the outlet.

      Inspect your home's fuse box. Check for any blown fuses and replace it as necessary.

      Inspect the home's circuit breaker, which may have been tripped by a power surge. Reset the circuit breaker.
