Instructions for a GE Profile Convection Microwave Oven

The GE Profile series of convection ovens possess a microwave setting to provide a comprehensive cooking experience in one machine. Microwave features include a cooking and a defrosting setting, with the difference being one is for cooking the food all the way through while the other just raises the core temperature of a frozen item to room temperature. Although the instructions may differ depending on the model of microwave within the Profile series, you can follow some basic rules regardless of the model.

Instructions

  1. Cooking

      Insert the food you want to microwave inside the GE Profile oven in a microwave safe dish. Close the door securely.

      Press the "Microwave" pad. Press "Cook." Select the time you would like to cook the food. Press the "Start/Pause" button to start the cooking.

      Wait for the buzzer to indicate the food is done cooking. Open the door and remove the food, being careful to avoid burning yourself with the hot food.

    Defrost

      Place the frozen food inside the microwave in a microwave safe dish. Close the door.

      Press the "Microwave" pad. Turn the selector dial to "Defrost." Select the amount of time you want the food to defrost. Press the "Start/Pause" button to begin.

      Wait for the buzzer to sound when the defrosting is done. Open the door and remove the food.
