How to Use a Kenwood CJSI25 Oven

The Kenwood CJSI25 combination microwave oven was sold primarily in the mid-1990s and is no longer available. The microwave has 1,000 watts of power and a 25-liter capacity. Kenwood sells over a dozen microwaves, available in appliance stores and on the company's website. The CJSI25 microwave works like most microwaves and can reheat, cook or defrost a variety of items. If you are used to more modern microwave models, the Kenwood might seem to require more time or take longer to cook food.

Instructions

    • 1

Pull the handle on the right side of the door out.

    • 2

Insert the item you wish to microwave. If necessary, place the item on a ceramic plate or paper towel.

    • 3

Press the "Auto Cook" button, if desired. Use the dial and button to enter the item's weight when prompted by the microwave screen. This will cook the item for a preset amount of time at a set power level. This step is typically used for large items that have standard cooking times like potatoes.

    • 4

Turn the dial in the bottom right corner of the microwave to the right to increase the cook time for the microwave. Typically, reheated items require 60 to 120 seconds and defrosting items require at least 5 minutes.

    • 5

Press the "Power" button to select a power setting. The Kenwood CJSI25 has five power settings. When defrosting items, use a lower power setting. When steaming, cooking or reheating items, use a higher setting.

    • 6

Close the microwave door. Press the "Grill" button to trigger the grill setting, if desired. This setting helps increase the crispiness of food.

    • 7

      Press "Start."
