Find a place where you would like the microwave to go, whether it's over the stove or underneath a cabinet. Make sure it is near an outlet.
Measure the space to make sure the microwave will fit. Most Whirlpool microwaves are 30 inches wide.
Install the wall panel that holds up the microwave to the wall using a screwdriver and by following the owner's manual.
Plug in the Whirlpool vented microwave, making sure the cord is out of the way of the wall panel.
Attach the microwave to the wall panel by snapping it into place.
Run the ventilation duct from either your attic or from outside your home to above your microwave.
Mark your ceiling with a pencil above your microwave around your ventilation duct, and cut out the dry wall with a keyhole saw.
Pull the ventilation duct through the ceiling until you get to the top of the microwave.
Attach the ventilation duct to the vent above the microwave using the hose clamp included with the Whirlpool vented microwave.
Test the microwave to make sure the vent was installed properly and all the buttons work.
