Center the microwave template to the bottom of a cabinet so that the microwave is mounted in the middle of the cabinet. Mounting the microwave in the center of the cabinet allows you to create even space on both sides of the microwave once installed.
Drill a hole through each screw location specified by the template up through the template directly into the bottom of the cabinet.
Cut a pass-through out of the cabinet for electrical plugs in the location specified by the template using the jigsaw. Cut a 2-inch-by-2-inch hole through the top of the cabinet as well if the electrical plug is located above cabinets.
Line the microwave wall template along the wall directly below the cabinet. This template guides you where to install the wall base for the microwave. Drill through the hole locations in the template.
Scan the wall with a stud finder to determine whether any drilled spots fall on a stud. If a stud is not in any of the drilled locations, place a heavy-duty drywall anchor into each hole.
Attach the wall base by holding the bracket up and lining up the holes on the wall with the holes in the base. Drive a bolt through each hole to secure the base to the wall.
Clip the microwave onto the wall base by locking it in from an angle. Pull the electrical plug through the hole, and line up the holes on the top of the microwave with the drilled holes in the cabinet. Drive one bolt through each hole to attach the microwave to the cabinet.
