Prepare the cabinet and wall for your microwave. Empty the cabinet. You must also have an electrical outlet in the cabinet; which is where the microwave will be plugged in. Ensure that the microwave is the appropriate size for the area where it will be installed. Measure the space for your microwave and divide the space in half by drawing a central, vertical line from the bottom of the cabinet to where the bottom of the microwave will be. Use a stud finder to locate all the studs in the wall and mark their position on the wall with a pencil.
Take the mounting bracket off the back of your microwave by removing the two screws. This bracket will be secured to the wall, touching the top of the cabinet. Mark the locations of the studs on the mounting bracket. Match the mounting bracket's center line with the center line on the wall. Hold the mounting bracket into place with tape. Drill holes into the wall at points "D", "E", "F" and "G" on your mounting bracket. Use a 3/16 inch bit where there is a stud and use a 3/4 inch bit in drywall. The microwave must be held by a stud in the "E" and "G" locations, or within the "H" area. Drill 3/16 inch holes into the wall studs in area "H". One hole should be at the top of the mounting bracket and the other at the bottom. Place lag screws into the wall studs and toggle bolts through the drywall where you have drilled the holes.
Measure the frame on the top of the microwave. This will be secured to the cabinet. If necessary, trim the edges (marked "A", "B" and "C") on the template to ensure it will fit properly. Match the center line of the cabinet template to the line on your wall and hold it securely with tape. Drill into the cabinet at "J" and "K" locations with a 3/8 inch bit. Drill a 2 inch hole for the power cord at location "M" on the template. Cut out the rectangular area, marked "L" or "M" to roof-vent the microwave.
Lift microwave oven and insert the power cord through the hole in the cabinet. Slide the microwave into the mounting bracket. Secure the microwave by placing the washers on the 1/4 inch by 3 inch bolts and inserting them through the holes in the bottom of the cabinet into the microwave. Tighten the bolts until there is no gap between the microwave and cabinet. Use the bright colored tapping screws to attach the damper to the vent on top of the microwave. Use ductwork to complete the venting system as needed. Wrap up the power cord and secure it with the clamp provided.
Hold the ring end of the filter with one hand and insert the other side into the opening in the bottom of the microwave with the opposite hand. Slide the filter toward the center of your microwave and insert the ring end. Slide the filter until it is secure. Repeat the process for the other screen and plug in the power cord.
