My Panasonic Microwave Genius Won't Start

Panasonic Genius microwaves sense the steam that exudes from food as it cooks. Based on the amount of steam and the weight and type of food being cooked, the microwave is able to let itself know when the food is ready, which helps take a lot of the guesswork out of cooking with a microwave. Panasonic recommends that microwave owners who are having problems getting their microwaves to start consider whether the microwave is receiving the power it needs.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the plug from the wall outlet and wait about 10 seconds before re-inserting it. The plug must be firmly inserted to transfer electricity to the appliance.

    • 2

Open your home's circuit breaker box and reset the breaker if it has tripped and is set to the "Off" position. Simply slide the breaker over to the "On" position to fix a breaker that has tripped.

    • 3

Plug a different appliance into the same outlet to make sure the outlet you are using is functional. Plug the microwave into a different outlet to see if this yields different results.

    • 4

Press on the microwave door to ensure it is completely closed. The microwave will not function until the door is fully shut.

    • 5

Press the "Start" pad on the display panel after setting the time. Failing to press this will result in the microwave not knowing that it should start.

    • 6

Press the "Stop/Reset" pad on the panel if a program different from the program you want to run has already been entered into the system.

    • 7

Press the "Clock" pad three times to turn off the demo mode. The demo mode will not allow the appliance to turn on and cook as it should.
