Magic Chef Full Stainless Steel Microwave Features

Magic Chef, as part of its microwave oven line, offers a few stainless steel options. Each offers similar features, with most features intended to make microwave cooking simpler. These microwaves don't just have the standard numbered buttons, but also buttons to cook specific food types. These microwaves also provide several protective features to keep their users safe and to protect the microwave from damage.
  1. Door Features

    • The clear door screen allows you to view your food as it cooks. The door is equipped with a latch; the latch's magnetron shuts off the oven if the door is opened during operation. It also has a seal to prevent the leakage of microwaves. Clean the door and seal regularly to prevent buildup that could affect the microwave's operation. Do not operate the microwave until it's repaired if you notice damage to the door, hinges or seal.

    Internal Features

    • The microwave's internal section is called the oven. It contains a glass cooking tray made of heat-resistant glass. You should not cook food directly on the glass tray. The tray sits on a roller guide that supports the tray and allows it to rotate while it cooks. Do not operate the oven without the glass tray in place. Remove the glass from the microwave for cleaning; you can clean it in warm, soapy water or in the dishwasher. Clean the roller guide and oven floor regularly to prevent buildup. Wash the roller guide in warm, soapy water; wipe the oven's bottom with a wet cloth and let it air-dry.

    Control Panel Features

    • The control panel on the microwave's exterior includes a number of features. The time-set pad sets the cooking time when you press a series of numbers. The display shows the cooking time, power level and other indicators. The one-touch control allows you to cook specific foods, such as popcorn or pizza; touch the appropriate control to activate the specific food, and touch it again to choose from different quantities. Press "More" or "Less" to add or remove time from the total cooking time. Select "Auto Defrost" to defrost foods based on their weight, or "Defrost" to defrost foods for a certain amount of time. Press "Power" to set the power level, "Start" or "Stop" to start or stop the oven's operation, "Clock" to set the clock or "Kitchen Timer" to set the minute timer.
